My journey with Monarch started on 1st February 2007 and this was my second job wherein the first job lasted for a month only I didn’t know what my future would be as I didn’t know anything accept to draw a line from one point to another using a mouse as never used a keyboard, didn’t know what Excel file is, what survey is, what CAD is actually all about. So, my beginning was from scratch, as I was not only heard of but trusted from day 1, and I am grateful for all the support for my professional development and upcoming opportunities at Monarch.

I have been working in Monarch for the past 17 years as a Land Acquisition Assistant (LAQ Executive). Monarch is not just an organization; it is my identity and responsibility. I joined Monarch more than 10 years ago as a CAD Operator. Monarch believed in me from day one. Monarch is a very good company. As a surveyor, I gained a lot of experience with every new project that I was assigned too. My reporting manager, the director who initially started Monarch as surveyors, taught me about all the highs and lows of surveying. Even though i was a novice they helped me learn the ropes.

My journey with Monarch started as a rodman (surveyor) and I got an employee code 5, and this was just the beginning of a long-lasting journey. There was so much to learn from all the directors as I was not an engineer, but they taught me everything about survey, survey equipment’s and how to make the most in every situation and terrain as it was not an easy task. Then one day due to my medical condition I couldn’t do surveys anymore and was disheartened that I would be jobless soon but unlike any other company I was asked to work in the office instead of field and do whatever possible work I can without causing any damage to my health by the directors. Monarch has given me so much that I can’t put it in words as I am forever indebted to Monarch.

Monarch has been instrumental in shaping me into a better human being because, for a person with no educational background, who is accepted and trusted with the entire office, responsibility means a lot. The directors have been a guiding source and have stood by me and my family through thick and thin. I have learnt so much from each and every director that I can only be grateful for the opportunity given to me.

I have been working with Monarch Company for the past 25 years. I works as a driver, but has never felt or been treated like just a driver. All the directors and employees have treated me like family. Initially, the company had only one vehicle, but today there are more than 50 vehicles, and I am responsible for all the vehicles. During difficult times (COVID) thanks to all Sirs at Monarch we never felt abandoned or alone.

I Shankar Murlidhar Bankar has been working for the company, Monarch Surveyors and Engineering Consultants Ltd. for the past 25 years. I started my journey with Monarch as a driver and have driven a car and even equipment trucks / vehicles on site for surveyors. I have been a driver for the past 25 years, but never has anyone at Monarch treated me as one, and I have always been respected by all employees. The directors have trusted me and still do. Me, along with my senior colleague, look after all the company vehicles.
